Hymn Reflection–All that Thrills My Soul is Jesus

Who can cheer the heart like Jesus
By His presence all divine
True and tender, pure and precious
O, how blest to call Him mine

All that thrills my soul is Jesus
He is more than life to me
And the fairest of ten thousand
In my blessed Lord I see

Love of Christ so freely given
Grace of God beyond degree
Mercy higher than the heavens
Deeper than the deepest sea

All that thrills my soul is Jesus,
Ev’ry day and ev’ry hour;
Jesus and His free salvation,
Jesus and His mighty pow’r.

Ev’ry need His hand supplieth,
Ev’ry good in Him I see;
And the strength He gives His weak ones
Is sufficient unto me.

What a wonderful redemption!
Never can a mortal know,
How my sin, tho’ red like crimson,
Can be whiter than the snow.

In yon everlasting city
With the ransomed I will sing,
And forever and forever,
Praise and glorify the King.

As a teenager this was my favorite song. I have many now but everytime I hear it I remember why I loved it. Can we say with this song that Jesus is what thrills us? Who can cheer us like our Jesus? Jesus freely gave His life so that we might have freedom and salvation in Him. How my sin can be whiter than the snow. Strength that He gives His weak ones and wipes the tears from their eyes. And some day we can be with Him forever and forever. Thank you, Jesus that you can bring comfort even in the midst of heavy suffering. Bless each person who reads this and bring peace to them. Amen.
